Green Tea Cookies ?
It is no surprise why these buttery yet crispy Green Tea cooking with Matcha powder has gained popularity in no time. The delightful flavor of sweetness and slight bitter taste makes for a great afternoon snack with Tea!
What is Matcha?
Matcha is a type of Green Tea. The way the leaves were grown and harvested is unique; it;s all done under shade. This Japanese green tea is a powder made from finely powdered dried tea leaves. It has a slightly bitter, vegetal taste and a vibrant green color. It’s been part of traditional Japanese tea ceremonies for centuries, but it recently became popular in the US because of its health benefits.

Serves: 24 Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
2 CUPS OF ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 1/2 Tbps OF MANGO MATCHA POWDER
3/4 CUP OF UNSALTED BUTTER SOFTENED
1 CUP OF WHITE SUGAR
PINCH OF SEA SALT
2 LARGE EGG YOLKS
1/4 CUP WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIP
INSTRUCTIONS:
-Combine flour and Matcha in a large bowl.
-Sift the flour and Matcha.
-Beat the butter until smooth and creamy.
-Add a little bit of salt and mix.
-Add the sugar and the egg yolks, combine well.
-Gradually add the flour/Matcha mix until the dough is smooth.
-Mix in the white chocolate.
- Remove dough and shape into a log like cylinder.
-Wrap in plastic then refrigerate for 2 hrs.
-Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or spray butter. Remove dough from the plastic wrap and slice it into 1/3 inches rounds.
-Bake for 15 minute or until the cookies turn slightly golden brown.
-Let it cool for 5 minutes and enjoy!
